Air con playing up

Hi all
So....the past few days it been impossible to get any air out of the vents, fans running flat out , but no airflow.
Keep pressing all the buttons, nothing.
Switch the engine off, a couple of times, and then it starts working ok, nice cold air.
Iid says air quality control sensor going to ground ( or something like that)
It was 34’ here today, and a miserable drive home from the shops!
Any idea where this sensor is located, or anything else i can try?

Steve

If that message is referring to the Pollution Sensors, then it’s here. Depending on model it could be left or right.

Yes. You only have one. My TDV8 was on the left hand side when facing the vehicle.

Piece of cake, open the bonnet and it’s there on the fan cowl.

Don't think that will have any effect on your problem, my last fatty had that fault all the time I owned it and it made no difference to how much air comes out, it just decides if the air quality is low and if it is it switches it to recirculate..

I would suggest it's more likely the blend flap actuators which I think you can test with the IID..

Good luck Thumbs Up Pete

Hi Pete
Is there a fix, or is it replacement by dealer?

Sorry guys
Can you tell me what side the air quality control sensor is on, I’ve looked, and cannot see anything that looks like what you are describing.
Will try and order a new one from Duckworth.
Makes sense that if the sensor thinks air quality is not good it would shut the outlets.

Steve
I found this thread. It has loads of info and photos, and the bottom of page 1 gives the part number, and a copy of the dealership parts computer.

Hope it helps.

Sorry guys,
I might be being a bit thick here, opened the bonnet, had a good look with a torch....cannot see anything that resembles what was posted. Definitely noting on the left hand side of the cowl.
Please help, as it been very warm here the last week!

Steven

Sorry chaps
Ordered a new sensor today, but still can’t find the old one!
It’s meant to be on the left side of the radiator, half way down the cowling, but I can see nothing.
Am I stupid?

Sorry Steve, missed your reply...

Like I say, don't think the air quality box will solve your issue, but worth a try I suppose...

Think you will find its the flaps not working properly especially as you can get it to work for a bit...

There maybe some reset procedure for them, if they need replacing some are easy others are a nightmare...

Good Luck.. Thumbs Up Pete
