looks great ! shame your pics are gone charles.

picking up on your post on another thread, you mention permanently on blackvue and a 4G TPLINK hotspot.

I'm guessing you have a second battery installed?

Something about emergency lights too?

Be great to hear all the work done and gadgets you have fitted.

Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Thumbs Up Cheers, Greg

Well gadgets wise I have the full android operating system from Ray at android aftershock in California, it's an absolutely superb system. Coupled up to that I have an Amazon Echo dot 3rd generation that is paired fo the android system via bluetooth so all my voice commands, asking it to play music, weather or any other random question that enters my mind is all fed through the sound system.

Blackvue does not have a second battery, it is simply wired into a permanent live. Yes over a period of 6 weeks the battery may go flat. But I go to Marbella often for a couple of weeks at a time and it's nice to be able to sit in spain and view my footage live from the car park at east Midlands airport. It's not flattened my battery yet. The hotspot however does consume a fair amount of power, so if I am away for longer than 4 days (the max it will run on it's own self contained battery) then I simply throw a spare 12v battery in the boot and I have a socket on two crocodile clips and that keeps it running for...well I'm not sure but 2 weeks so far without the battery going flat Smile

Lighting wise I have the LED lights you see, but also emergency lighting that is predominantly used off road, convoy work, or on station.

In the pipeline I have another project for the L405. That is a specialist lift kit to raise the struts or space them however you look at it, so that rather than having lift rods and maxing out the airbags on the suspension, it simply acts as a spacer between the body and the suspension strut where it bolts onto the car. This will allow a 3inch lift while not stressing any of the factory suspension I.e. the airbags. When the airbags are fully inflated almost to the max (1Meter of clearance floor to top of arch) the ride is very bumpy due to everything being under high pressure. So the spacers will take that away and allow you to retain factory ride hight on road, and then a quick press of a pre-set hight setting in the IID tool will set the car up for a softer but higher than standard clearance when off road. Nothing worse than bouncing around offroad because your maxed out on hight.

The LED bar behind the grill, is that a spot or flood configuration?

Jim

Hi Jim they are a combination bar actually as per the roof mounted bar. The outer edges do flood and the centre does spot, its a good combination actually Very Happy

Like the hidden winch a lot, that looks just perfect to me. Is this any kind of OEM or did you do some special research and found the real craftman at his shop to do the job? Bow down

Loving the look of this vehicle Charles and a man after my own heart when it comes to gadgets! Is the light bar behind the grill easy to fit? Do you have these lights on their own switches in side the cabin? What make are the lights? Sorry for all the questions Thumbs Up

The last one prior to lock down was Scotland. We were up at loch lomond near fort William, and we explored all over the mountains and even went up a ski resort, and drove up to find some snow!

I have a home built expedition trailer that I tow with us on air suspension built using land rover parts, it has onboard power and solar system, along with a fuel burning heater and fridge freezer. That all powers and feeds our 7 meter bell tent and automatically keeps the temperature of the tent at what ever we set. I used to have a log burner, but I decided I like to press a remote control if I'm cold and it fires up just like the webasto fuel heaters in the range rover. An outdoor IP66 socket feeds power into the tent. It also serves as our kitchen with a fold out rain canopy. MK2 is underway and will be a ground up build with no donor chassis, a bespoke build.
