As I am looking at the car to buy. I am looking at what else I need to buy. I will need a set of Winter Tyres for Germany. The car will come with summer tyres. I am looking at rims from elitewheelsandtyres (either matching the set on the car or turbines) - has anyone used them before.
What winter tyres do people fit? Do you smaller rims or the summer ones. I can only fit speed rated tyres in Germany so I know that the Winter tyres are available in 22".
What recommendations for Winter tyres do people have?

I do - I have Conti Winter 22's on a marching set of turbines

Most of the threads are arguing about whether you need winters or not in the UK or whether M+S = Winter

If you know what winter tyres are and you know you need them, there's less to think about......

I've moved house now, so no more gravel drive, but I still have the same car & wheels

How did the Winter protection get on for the Wheels? Do they still look nice?

If you go on to ownerinfo.landrover you will find a section on the homologated winter tyres. From memory the only 22" winters on that list are the Continentals. If you are getting winter wheels you would have a choice of 20 or 21" alternatives, where there is a bit more choice. I would not consider non-LR wheels. Only Range Rovers since 1988

I know from other years I want to get my order of winter tyres placed by mid-September. So I can then get them fitted in October. A few years ago on another car, I left it until October and I was going away 2 weeks later. Austria then had an early fall of snow. So I had to take what was there, the tyre I really wanted was going to take 3 weeks to arrive.

I will order the rims when I buy the car (I think I am going to do it)... That will give me time to treat the rims... before they are needed... I might ask you a few more details then...

Last winter was fun in the Mini with the roof down and snow on the road. Heater on full and the music playing...
