Hi. My 4.4 tdv8 is getting due for discs and pads front and rear. Are you best sticking with genuine parts. What quality alternatives are there.

I used Ferodo pads front and back on my 5.0SC. Seems to work perfectly fine. Rear ones came with new clips and brackets. Front didn’t come with new pins and clips. I reused the old as the ones I got from britcar were so bad quality they bent on the first tap.

I've always been in favour of using genuine brake parts only but the last time my 4.4 TDV8 needed them the cost seemed to have shot up since I last got them. I bought a complete set of EBC discs and ultimax pads for just under £400 and I believe they are every bit as good as or possibly better than the LR ones. I don't know if they'll last as well as the LR ones but after 10K miles they are still fine.

I used Delphi disks with Brembo pads the last time I did them. Discs had done 60k when I sold the car with no issues so was very happy with them.

Just bought genuine discs, stamped Land Rover and Brembo from Robin at Duckworths for £128.25 for the pair...  Pete
