United Kingdom 2011 Range Rover Vogue SE TDV8 Buckingham Blue

My passenger front is making an awful racket.

Can you put washers on etc without taking the disk off?

Want to do something quick so I can still drive it…. Then get sorted in next week or so…..

no, the disk is in the way, the calliper and disc need to come off, should take about 1/2 hour to do properly though. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

England 2007 Range Rover Vogue SE 4.2 SC V8 Zermatt Silver

A short story
While driving through Edgware on a busy Sunday morning in my 81' classic RR a rythmic screeching suddenly started to eminate from the front of the car, steering felt ok everything working fine, so a stone, I thought prob trapped between disc and car and carried on.

It got louder and louder people were turning round and watching as I sailed past, mmm
I thought maybe I should stop and look, next second there was an almighty bang and instant silence. I looked in my mirror to see the car behind flash his lights and the remains of my nearside dust shield bounce into the kerb. Ok well, I thought I hope nothing else falls off as I made it home.

Replaced the dust shield this morning. Talked my MOT man into doing most of it. He has a proper ramp. Had to use a chisel to get one of the wheel nuts off. Usual swollen caps issue. Good job I bought some new ones last week and had them with me.

Cut the new one and slid it on. Used nuts and bolts with big washers… plenty of clearance.

Much better now.

I did contemplate just taking it off and not buying a new shield, no issue MOT wise, but he says it’s primarily there to stop grease being thrown all over the disks if your CV rubber boot splits….
