Soot content

Yesterday I was monitoring dpf and soot went from 13.9 to 20.9 over a 20 mile journey. Gulp!

This morning I cleaned the Map on top of the doughnut, checked hoses and cleaned maf. The maf and the throttle body were pretty much clean. The map however was well choked up.

After putting all back together. Went out and the soot had gone down to 16.9. Interesting! I did what I had to do and then went for a drive. Levels got to 17.6 after 25 miles or so and then regen started. So all is fine with that and got down to 13 before running out of time.

Not sure if this is just a coincidence. Anything thoughts? 2011 4.4tdv8 Vogue

Easy. Remove hoses unclip and that allows access to the maf. I didn't disconnect or remove the maf at all. Sprayed with brake cleaner and gently wiped up excess.

Good idea. Leave wiring connected and clean it in situ with lots of blue roll to catch the drips? Gone to a good home: 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE Buckingham Blue with Ivory and clear glass = "Rory"
