Revised Wiring Harness

I have been looking to buy a Range Rover for around the £20-25k range and the dealer told me to only really consider ones post 2005. He said that this is becuase the wiring was updated using fibre optics which has resolved alot of wiring issues on the earlier models?

Is this TRUE?

Could be true but i have never had a wiring issue and a main dealer has never mentioned that pre 2005 cars are a problem for this reason !!!

One reason for the recommendation for post 05 cars could be the Main Dealers only sell cars up to 3 years old

Thanks for that, I did think that when he told me. Just as a quick note do you know which year the front prop issue was resolved? (I'll go hunting if you dont)

If it is what i think you mean, it is part of their recall but called something like "enhancement programme" when you went in for a service etc... It was upgraded free and most RRs should have had it done by now.

I believe the front prop issue was sorted when they facelifted the vehicle (BMW lump affectted - Jag lump not affected)...

I'm sure I read it somewhere.
