Go to any motor factors, have them test your battery, once its confirmed |

Fair enough. I've ordered a Yuasa HSB020 battery from Halfords and will get it installed this afternoon. |

So, new battery fitted - no start; same symptoms as before.

Well your not pratting about with jump leads anymore, so it's ruled out the battery issue, next check is glow plugs

I had the same issue on my TD6. Would start fine one minute, then just spin over and not fire the next time. It did turn out to be the secondary-fuel pump, they're easy to do, just inside a panel under the N/S/R floor, you should see cross head screw if you pop underneath the car then remove the small plastic panel, you will smell of diesel once complete. If you want to check it, next time it does it get someone to lean underneath with lump of wood and bash it while turning the key, it usually shocks them into life. (How I proved mine) |

That’s the one I said to wack.... easier if you take the plastic cover off.... though mine wasn’t intermittent. Just stopped working.

Another vote for the secondary fuel pump here, mine had similar symptoms.

My code reader said exactly the same and it was the rear pump.

Cheers John. Will try the spanner trick to see if it gets it going but certainly looks like the most likely cause now. |
