2007 Rear Doors - What are these bits of foam for ?

Anybody any idea where these bits of foam should be located inside the rear doors of a 2007MY car?

The rear left window regulator broke for unknown reasons & the door glass disappeared into the door !
To sort it, I've removed the door trim, glass & regulator, but found these 2 bits of presumably anti-vibration / sound deadening foam loose in the bottom of the door.
The rectangular bit is approx. 2.5inches x 1.5 x 1.25 & has witness marks as if it was stuck to something originally (but no mating marks to be seen inside the door).
The very shaped piece is approx. 3.5 inches long & has no marks from adhesive.

I've got a s/h replacement regulator for a good price, but don't want to fit it until I know where the foam bits should be.

Thanks in advance ! Paul,

No mention in RAVE.

All I can suggest is to have a look in the other side? .

Joe90, thanks for the good suggestion.
I've also exhausted looking at RAVE, the WM & reviewing the comments / videos on Google & Forums where people have also changed the window regulator.

It's probably the only option, but I'm reluctant to pull the trim off the other side due to bad experience with the number of trim clips that break / become unusable.
I'll have to work myself up to it - lol

Thanks again ! Paul,

I too am in the process of changing a rear window mechanism. And I have found the same mystery wedge-shaped foam piece loose inside the bottom of the door.

I also would dearly like to know where it's supposed to fit. With my luck, if I went to all the trouble of removing/reinstalling the opposite door trim, I would find the same loose block in there too. So, there's no way thats going to happen.

Looking for clues Rolling Eyes

Gyre8 ; That's what I think would probably happen to me - Laughing

I think I'm going to leave them out, but hold onto to them just in case I ever find out where there supposed to locate.
At least I don't need the blocks of wood in the door now to keep the window up - lol Paul,

I believe they maybe a security measure to stop attempted attacks on the door locking mechanism?

Craig,
an intriguing thought.
Any idea where the lock could be attacked from ?
Maybe from the base of the quarterlight ?
Foam obviously not the strongest prevention method - but possibly enough to deflect something ?
Something to keep me occupied for a while tomorrow Smile Paul,

I recon they throw a couple of bits of foam in each door at the factory just to Censored off an owner down the line who has to change a regulator... Rolling Eyes Pete
