Sticky Ignition Key

Hi All

I have a sticky key issue , it appears to be the ignition lock itself , there is probably some dirt gone down it , it is defiantly not he steering column issue , has anyone on this forum removed and cleaned the barrel , from instructions there is a special tool required ?

This is for the Ignition Key on the center console , L322 2006

Cheers

Neil

Have you tried a puff of graphite powder in the lock or grind down a pencil lead to powder second best. I had a panic a while ago and this resolved the issue. The key position is just asking for debris to find their way in. 2007 TDV8 VSE

I can only find WIKI for the steering column issue and the Shift cable , not for removing the lock ?

Thanks, but neither of those mention the removal of the key assembly
