Well spent the bank holiday on the car and finally got it all back together, initial test drive it was disappointingly sluggish however I used my gap tool to reset any stored codes and it feels like it’s old self again, touch wood no sign of overheating or loss of any coolant however just to test my patience it is now giving me some electrical gremlins to sort (no hill decent, lowered suspension and limited gears) Will have a proper look tomorrow evening as going to relax in the garden tonight 😀

Good point but I am wondering if I tightened the negative up properly as I did pop the battery on charge when it spat it’s hose off, I have had issues before with that connector so will have a look tomorrow ...have had a beer now 😋

Eventually realised the issue was the fuel temp sensor connector which had not quite seated properly. Have since put 150 miles on the car without issue. In my mind that’s looking promising that it was just the hose which had been contaminated with oil combined with a dodgy spring clip. Still struggling to believe it’s that but very happy if so 😀
