wheels and tyres

Hi Folks,

Getting to the point where I need to replace all four tyres I think. As I have a TD6 currently with 20" wheels thought it may be a good time to replace the wheels as well for 19" as these are supposed to be better for the car. POssibly not much difference in price for 4 tyres or 4 (or 5) wheels with tyres. Would like to stay OE if poss but must have good tyres as this is the point of the exercise.

What do you think of these..? Or any other suggestions.?

No No No to RRS wheels, sooo wrong.

No to 18" as well, your car is too new I think to have come with them.

Thanks Guys,

One's I've seem advertised have TPMS fitted but I don't think my car has this (or it's not activated)

Could anyone tell me if it should have it (54 plate Vogue) or if it matters that the new wheels have it fitted.? Presumably I can just take this off if I don't need it.?

Could someone also confirm that these 255/55/19s are ok for my car. There is some confusion that they should be 255/50/19's for mine but it's out of my area of knowledge.

a dealer would have to activate tpms if you do fit them otherwise it wont make a difference..

255/55/19 is a FFRR size and comes on a 8j wheel...
255/50/19 is a RRS size and comes on a 9j wheel...

FFRR wheels are either 8j or 8.5j with an offset of 53mm, and RRS wheels are 9j or 9.5j with an offset of 57mm..

you can fit RRS wheels on a FFRR [as i have] ... - .- -.

you're welcome ashley..

can i also add that its best to get OE landrover wheels because they have been built to high spec and can take the weight of the vehicle whereas aftermarket wheels might not be.. ... - .- -.

Cool - I've phoned the guy and he has confirmed they are official OE RR wheels. Just waiting to see if he has a fifth (for my spare).

Do you reckon that £825 is a good price for 4 wheels with tyres with (8mm tread left)?

Compared to the cost of 4 new tyres for my 20's which is what I'd need anyway. May also sell the 20's Ash

Damn - I like the 7 twin spoke variety. I think these are the newer style wheels aren't they.

Buying with my heart rather than my head again (as my dad would say.!)

Oh and are the GoodYears good tyres for the FFRR.? Ash

They are the D4 19" I believe as the Range Rover Wheels in this style where 20".
The offset at 53 is D3/RRS I think but they would fit fine on a FFRR and look very nice in my opinion Thumbs Up

OK

Nice 19" wheels, Guy has another with a couple of small scuffs as a spare, all tyres have at 8mm tread and will ship all five to me including carriage for £950

What do you think.? I could then sell on my 20" stormers I suppose for a few hundred.

Still going to be cheaper than 4/5 new boots for the 20" wheels I think.? Ash

I get the vibration when in D but foot on the brake when stopped at lights etc.

LR issued a notice that suggests the TD6 should only have 19" wheels i believe to solve this issue.

I am in need of new tyres anyway so no point in getting another set of 20"s Ash
