Odd starting issue...l322 04/05 vogue lpg

Hello folks
As per title an odd event that is now on its 3rd appearance...start vehicle short journey battery flat on trying to start again...left overnight took battery with me charged up back next day..fired no problem...tried it twice yesterday no joy..purchased new battery this morning tried to start no joy...took home charged to 13 v tried again no joy....now my question is...is there something electrical that needs to bleed off any residual voltage as it seems odd that twice ive disconnected the battery left it for 8 hours and its as if theres no problem checked earth connections i can see even ran all comm and cleared everything i possibly could before attempting to start but still no joy

Any ideas ?...

You say, won't start, what do you mean, it doesn't crank over, it cranks slow, it just clicks... it cranks at normal speed but won't fire...?? Pete

Hi Haylands
Get the Click, but when it turns its quite normal no sluggishness or reluctance normally takes a bit longer to start than a straight petrol would but i thinks thats more to do with it being lpg and having to do the purge before it gets petrol (prins vsi)

Prinz LPG will have no effect on starting, nothing has to "purge" that's with the old single point system...

So it is turning over as fast as normal but not firing..? Pete

Are you sure the new battery is fully charged.

Usually if you just get the click and no turning of the motor it points to the battery being under voltage and the ecu doesn't even attempt to spin the engine as computer says no.

If the click is from under the bonnet then that is the solenoid of the starter clicking and the starter not engaging.. sounds like you need a new starter, when a motor is hot it will have more resistance, so yes it will work better when stone cold... Thumbs Up Pete

Just gets better...so i managed to get it started and managed to get it home...now when i put the key in and turn to position 2 the rev counter jumps to show just over 2000 rpm and hovers around there...the engine is still unstarted at this point and i can hear something running in the vicinity of my feet on the drivers side unsure what this might be oh and to cap it all i get a oil pressure stop engine warning...before its started...which ecu is responsible for this witchcraft ?

Sounds more like low battery voltage, have you checked it, is your charger working OK..? Pete

left it on charge overnight (new batt) took 3 attempts to get started and sounds like its struggling ot get fuel ,turned off to go lock the door....and click...same again...tried it again and managed to get it to start twice but rough idling, revs going up and down unaided, even attached fully charged old battery via jump leads in case ini9tial starting had drained new one..same..click!

Had a burst lpg reducer hose recently at the rear of the engine managed to sort that and now im thinking perhaps coolant got in somewhere but no ideas as to where
