Further to my last post where I discovered that the door had been repaired...

I've noticed two small blisters right on the door edge this morning and on closer inspection, it's the lacquer thats bubbled and popped

I was wondering if this can be save before it gets worse. I've read on other forums that these things tend to result in a respray but I can't see why this would be neccessary. Surely, the blisters can be flatted out and touched in with a bit of clearcoat and a hobby brush?

Anyone ever tackled a similar job? Stone chips etc?

I had similar on the bottom edge on my P38, the paint was starting to blister in two places, about the size of a 5p, one had bliistered and cracked, one was just a slight bubble.

I was having a roof dent repaired (car wash fk up) at a local bodyshop, I got him to repair them. I don't know what he did to be fair, but you couldnt tell they were there afterwards.

Anyway, my point - any decent bodyshop should be able to repair these very cheaply (under £100 I would think) 

I have some bubbles under the 3 black coated window trims.
Dealer says: ....Land Rover statement...not covered under the rust warranty XJC, RRV8, Series1 86 and 107% of real pleasure

These are clip on bits though so I'm not surprised they aren't covered under the anti perforation warranty. Mine are bubbling a bit, I might just replace them completely.

I think the part numbers are DDC000121PMD & DDC000131PMD, FRH & FLH.

No idea how much these bad boys are guna cost though!

I recently had to get the one fitted for the rear 1/4 glass section £83 and the company took £30 as it had to be bonded on

, have the same at the Mercedes, it is Magnesium based and not aluminium.
Scratch it, primer it, spray it black. For the bottom window trim this may be the cheaper version
