Clap for the NHS

Due to our HUGE respect we in my house have for our frontline NHS staff after suffering major health issues myself. I have been closely monitored for the past 10yrs with monthly trips to Cheltenham hospital... Anyhow, now you'll understand why i care so very much about our wonderful NHS...

So.....

Tonight at 8pm my wife, 12yr old boy & I went to the top of our drive with pots and wooden spoons in hand for what is now the third time/week running. We live in a little hamlet of 8 or so houses half a mile or so out of our village. And for the first time this week quite unexpectedly most if not all of the neighbours did the same!!! 1st time we have had some company! "which was nice"

8pm came and we all started to make some noise & clap our hands etc etc, we had around 5 cars drive past during the 3 or 4 mins we were there and all were sounding their horns way before seeing us stood outside (being the first, or last houses in the village) which was very unexpected and again really rather nice!

Now, we live rather close to the M5 and although the wind almost always blows the correct way so we don't hear much noise and in recent weeks that little noise has become less & less with the lockdown, at 8pm on the dot EVERY HGV on the motorway started blowing their airhorns!

WOW well done GREAT Britain, i take my hat off to you... I for one was BLOODY PROUD to be British this evening... Frontline staff, Keep up the great work whilst the (vast majority) of the rest of us keep supporting them... Bow down Thumbs Up

Nice one, we've been doing it also for the last three weeks also, but fortunately, all the neighbours have joined since the beginning.
We have a neighbour mailing list, so we arranged it all, and we could hear the clapping and banging from afar.

Nice to read about the HGV too Thumbs Up l=Oo\________/oO=l l:OolΞΞΞΞΞΞΞloO:l

A Trap

Well done. Pity we can’t pay NHS staff and care workers a decent wage and provided them the desperately needed PPE and equipment. Let’s see what happens after the crisis, will the gov. honor there promises to fund the NHS properly... I sought it as the Tories clapped cheered when they voted against a pay rise for NHS works just 2 months ago. Don’t forget many nurses and front line staff have now died and many are ill.

We need to hold the gov. Accountable and to their pledges on the NHS.

Same huge respect for NHS here Craig due to my experiences with my middle son. My neighbour is an NHS Doctor on the frontline & says it’s heartwarming hearing all the cheering & clapping, so it is worthwhile & appreciated Bow down

Daughter had a 13 hour shift yesterday, spent most of it rebuilding someone who had experienced Caterham/tree interaction.
Her conclusion was that the drivers pelvis is the main crash structure. letters not necessarily in the right order

And this is why people should stay at home except for essential journeys. I'm not saying this particular person wasn't on an essential journey but those who think its ok to travel in their own car to a remote location for a "bit of exercise" need to wake up to the fact that, if they have an accident it impacts hugely on both the emergency services and the NHS who have to expend resources to patch them up. Same applies if your car breaks down.

FFS, think of others you selfish f Censored s

Sorry, rant over.

Well done NHS Bow down Bow down

Seeing the words 'clap' and 'NHS" in the same sentence is not something I ever thought i'd see on this forum.

There are plenty others where they do appear together regularly (allegedly Whistle )

Strange times indeed!
