Mercedes Sprinter Bottle Jack - not for L405?

Having recently experienced a puncture with the L405, I had to use the LR scissor jack because it seems my Mercedes Sprinter bottle jack isn't compatible. Am I right (borrowed from others, images below)?

The BMW jack head / socket won't work.

The Y of the original sprinter jack head should work if it's at 90 degrees to the bar with the slot in it - but may damage it. The fitting is very similar to the old Land Rover std bottle jack

I just bought a fast action trolley jack from SGS to swop my wheels over, and keep the std jack on the car for punctures, plus a bottle of the Holts 4x4 puncture goo just in case I get a puncture in a really awkward location and need a fast solution to get me out quick. 2021 L405 Vogue SE 4.4 V8 DIESEL ~ #17

Spooky - I also had a problem with mine today - they certainly don't work with deployable steps

Mine still has 'ears' but with the BMW adapter, I'd be inclined to grind a slot down the length of it.

Hello
looks like the L322 guys have done a lot on finding a way to jack the car avoiding the poor quality cisor model delivered with the car. i had the same one with my LR3 and broke it the first time i used it. almost had the car fall. since i was using a bottle jack with a pin adaptor to the chassis. now on the L405 i dont know if i should rebuild an adaptor for that jacking point. that would be stable with a bottle. if anyone has ideas. home i would use a garage jack. but on the road dont want to use the scisor one. any tips appreciated

You can buy a variety of Jack pads with slots in, Ive not seen an alloy one yet tho.....

I reckon someone with a CNC machine could knock one up easily tho...... Whistle There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

A bit of a quick fix that works well until you can get something better
Screw a jam pot lid onto a piece of wood upside down, then press the rubber pad with a slot into it.
You will find it grips well and will never fall out.

yes they are
but not sure if they wont break any plastic part if you put under, or bend the shield... also they take a lot of space
thanks for the idea anyway Smile 2013 L405 V8 5.0 Aspirated Autobiography

I use one of these for my L405 and Mercedes bottle jack.

Had to trim it slightly to fit the jack head but works well

Wheel size shouldn't make a difference - bigger wheels have narrower tyres, so the height is the same.

I don't know the height you need to lift though - mine has deployable steps, so the jacklng point is different (lower)
