Mrs C's experience with her Ford Kuga & the local dealership ;

After sales service - when delivered the car came with a pathetic single horn & the headlights on dip were poor. The salesman said he would look into a horn upgrade but never came back to us despite a couple of reminders. 10 minutes googling found out via a Kuga forum that the wiring for a second horn is in place, part # & how to install in 10 minutes. As for the headlights "thats how they are madam". All over her like a cheap suit before ordering & then did'nt want to know.
Shut down without warning one night (DPF sensor) leaving us stranded on an unlit road in the sticks - thank you RAC for rescuing us. Service department indifferent as to why no warning appeared.
Wanted a week to replace a headlight bulb (until Mobility leaned on them).

It's a shame as otherwise it's quite a nice motor. But not, as I gather the most reliable.

& the local Fraud dealers wonder why their local nickname is "Inflicted Motors".

Mrs C's experience was one of the reasons I did not buy/lease a new Transit Custom - the other was the plated towing weight - not sufficient for mt 2.5T box trailer.

The hunt will soon be on - the replacement needs to have about the same seat height from the ground as the Kuga or the previous car - a Fiat 500L.

On the subject of dealerships ;

Ford - all over you like a cheap suit until you have taken delivery & indifferent after sales. (Twice now - no more). The old car Mrs C had from Mobility that had to be recovered.
Fiat - cannot fault them. Car never seemed to be keen on visiting the pumps but felt a bit "tinny".
VW - a touch "clinical" but again cannot fault them. Polo & Golf - both fantastic cars & never failed.
Nissan - did not get as far as a test drive - Mrs C was put off by the state of the salesmans hands !
Vauxhall - too patronising & gushy. All the cars driven felt devoid of charector & driver appeal.
Seat - excellent but upfront payment too high, pity as Mrs C liked this one the most.
Skoda - excellent but no suitable car for Mrs C.
Toyota - pretty good but no suitable car at the time (& now they have inflicted the prius on the world no chance)

One things for certain, next round of test drives will include a nightime headlights test !. 2003 Range Rover Vogue TD6

Try a Hyundai Tucson. Had a top of the range one for a year via mate who works at their HQ. Highly rate it. Gone to a good home: 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE Buckingham Blue with Ivory and clear glass = "Rory"

Mobility is basically a charitable status leasing company.

People in receipt of the higher rate mobility allowance (or whatever its called nowadays) can use up their full allowance & lease cars like a Toyota Yaris.
If you want something better you can pay an upfront, non-returnable payment. At one time you get even get a RR. However, there is an upper retail ceiling limit on the cars now.
Mobility operates the largest car fleet in the country.
You get a new car every 3-years & Mobility get a constant supply of low mileage cars which fetch premium prices at the auctions/dealerships & as they purchase direct from the manufactures they don't do too badly out of it.
All running costs are inbcluded, you just have to put fuel & oil in it. Tyres are inclued too but the downside of that is you have to go to Kwik Fit & have no choice in the make of any replacement tyres (they won't swop them round either) quoting "it's only a mobility car madam".

Kwik-Fit depots are a complete nightmare for a lease vehicle - I learnt a torrid lesson when I took an incoming call whilst sat in a KF depot and I advise the caller that I’d been there “so long that I’d end up paying f—ing Poll Tax if I stayed much longer...” to realise that my car was up on jacks, doors open and broadcasting via the delights of Bluetooth, to the whole workshop and the (far) wider world...

However, the point is... if you want decent service from Kwik-Fit, get their mobile service to come to you.

All the depot nonsense disappears and they are genuinely helpful...
