Hello to all, I’m new here. I have a problem with my Range Rover L322 TD6 2003 hand-break.
Is there someone here how nose how to make it working properly. I changed the disc and all pads and shoes also hand-break cables but it’s still not breaking well. When I go for the MOD then it’s not passed now. Maybe someone can tell me what to do more.

Sounds like an adjustment issue for your handbrake.

Have you gone through the adjustment procedure and turned the adjuster inside the disc until the brake disc cannot be moved, then turn the adjuster back only until you can just move the disc ?

Have your removed all the slack from the handbrake cable with the adjusters by the handle ? .

Joe90, thanks for your message. But yes I have done that. But it’s not working as it should be. When I pull the hand-break I can drive forward and backwards, and when I do that while I’m drive than it doesn’t break well 😢😏

Do the rear discs go solid when you apply the handbrake (rear wheels off the ground) ?

If not, adjustment not right somewhere.... .

I had a 55 plate X5 that had new discs & pads & never did have a good handbrake, just one of those things on an X5 I thought.

When you replaced thr rear discs did you check that there was no grease protection on the braking surfaces to prevent corrosion until the disks were fitted to the car. Quite often you have to degrease discs before fitting.

Yes, with break clean and sandpaper. That’s not the thing, when I do this thing’s then 👍🏼 and not 👎 or 🤷🏼‍♂️. But thanks for mentioning 👌🏼.

I have the same problem buddy.

I will be changing out the shoes for new ones, cleaning up the inside of the brake disc and crossing my fingers......
