Replacing inner and outer track rod ends/tie rods

Last post on this subject I promise. Got all my parts now to replace both sides, inner and outer track rod/tie rods. Is it pretty straight forward, or are there any complications I may come up against?

Will be measuring the length of each so the new ones go back on as close to they came off until I get it to be tracked

Anytihng else I should watch for or be careful of?

Count the number of turns unscrewing the old ones, gives you a ball park for screwing in the new ones.
ie, 20 out = 20 in.

Have fun. Thumbs Up L322 3.6 TDV8 Vogue. 07MY

A few pointers I remember from doing mine below incase they are any use:

The old bolt that holds the outer tie rod may well be seized so you need to take the whole lot off in one.

You can get the inner easy enough from underneath with a wide jaw adjustable spanner.

Front ball joint may be a pain but a pickle fork and big hammer should see you through.

Reuse the round circle spacers off the old ones as the new won't have them.

Also large adjustable hose clips are easiest to secure the inner rubber boot back on rather than the existing clips. Current 2007 TDV8 Vogue Buckingham Blue
