Stereo spec of L405’s

Are the meridian systems specific to what’s ordered from new or do all ab’s come with the premium 1200w or 825w ?
Mines got the 380w meridian and I want to fit a 825w amp and a centre dash speaker and maybe parcel shelf speakers. Just wanna see if I can get bits from a breaker.

Vogue has the 380w system as standard, but the 825w can be specced as an extra. The 1700w system cannot.

Vogue SE and AB have the 825w system as standard but can be specced with the 1700w.

AFAIK the only model with the 1700w as standard is the AB Black LWB.

I'm not sure how realistic and cost effective it would be to try to retrofit higher grade systems. Only Range Rovers since 1988

Thanks. Just what I needed. 380w and 825w run the same speakers. It’s only the 1200w that has the upgraded door speakers. I will be looking to fit the updated 1200w Kevlar front and rear door speakers as well as the 825w amp. The 825w is totally interchangeable with the 380w but the 1200w isn’t. I’m in the process of trying to find out if just swapping the door speakers and amp will work without having to mess with the ccf. I’m pretty sure you would if fitting the centre speaker etc but just the amp and door speakers I’m hoping not. I know the 825w has a sub but apparently the amp only sends 50w to power it. So will leave fitting the sub for now and prob go with a aftermarket sub & amp separate.

I fitted the 1700w carbon fibre (or maybe kevlar) speakers from a breakers yard to my AB and the speakers handle the bass much better than the originals... The originals used to distort very easily! Thumbs Up

Yours is a 825w though isn’t it Craig? I just need to find out if I can just buy a 825w amp, fit it with the Kevlar speakers and it will work without dealing with ccf. If that’s the case that will be enough for me. I’ve read of someone who’s done this to a ff and says you don’t even need the sub as the speakers handle the bass so well. Problem is it doesn’t say if the ccf had to be dabbled with. If it’s the latter and at whatever cost the ccf does need tweaking and I can find someone who can do this or even teach myself lol. Then I will go ahead and fit centre speaker and shelf speakers.

Is the 825w amp accessible and are the expensive? I have the standard vogue system but would be interested to upgrade 2017 Range Rover Vogue V6 Diesel

Have you got the base model meridian? Amp is under passenger seat. And they are reasonably expensive. You can find them on eBay for around £200. Like said I’m not 100% it can be done without modding the ccf.
