That high pitched warble at the start of the clip? Sounds quite like like my mystery noise. Have you turned off the heater fan and AC to rule them out? After that either get a specialist to take a look (which is what I'm doing) or hunt it down yourself (what I tried to do and gave up on) and post up more detail here. Have you had a listen under the bonnet? Likely candidates include something on the accessory belt (tensioner/idler pulleys/various pumps) or believe there is an ECU fan?

Thanks guys - the noise is present with the a/c or heater off. It is present while on and off the throttle and doesn't appear to be linked to throttle position or change with speed of the car except I begin to hear it once I reach about 15-20 mph. The greater the speed the more I hear it but it's not terribly loud. Could it be air noise from pieces of loose trim inside the engine bay? ECU fan? Those are my only two guesses at the moment but I don’t think the ecu fan noise would change with speed of the car and I certainly would hear it while not moving (which I don’t; I only hear it above 15-20mph) |
