05 l322 30d fans query

Hi i just replaced the egr thermostat and when testing for a leak is it normal for the fan to come on at start up and run continuously

Think it was the viscous will check tomorrow i lost no coolant when replacing egr thermostat old one was kaput
i think its been running for months temp gauge never moved out of cold after 100 mile drive new termo made some difference now the hard one ohh

Yes the viscous fan is staying on at start up is there a way to fix this has it to come out or has it to be replaced it any fuses i can take out to see if it gets to normal temp thanks

Just checked the viscous fan with engine running i can stop it on start up with a piece of cardboard as engine heats up just out of the blue mark on temp gauge its on full cant stop it is it a problem or normal
