Which tow bar do I need? Picture attached

Morning all,

All the tow bar prep is there, but I am a bit confused as to which tow bar I need to buy.

Pic below shows the socket.

Thanks

You have the standard factory option Westfailia 2in receiver so you could either go for the quick detach swan neck style or the adjustable drop plate style.

Drop plate style (VUB000720):

Swan neck (VUB000730):

Check the cubbie hole in the boot floor in the right rear wing recess, you might find some swan neck parts in there as that's where's stored when detached (although the main receiver bar won't fit in there so is likely missing).

That is brilliant Weejock Thumbs Up

Its only for back box, so I will just get the cheapest I can find (although all of them command quite a high price Rolling Eyes )

I would not buy a Westfailia setup. It took me half a morning to remove the 'receiver' female section the other day. Corroded solid. It then took me another few hours to clean it up on the bench and get the Tow bar section to snap in. I will re fit mine but only after a good paint job and ensure 'marine grease is used to lube up the female part. Razz 2010 3.6 TDV8 Vogue

I have the adjustable drop plate which I keep in the boot. Although I use it regularly and have the Land Rover end cap for the main receiver I still need to wire brush it out every few months when I find corrosion’s stopping the bar being fully inserted! 🤔

Be aware that some boxes / racks / cycle carriers will only attach to swan neck balls, whereas others need the old style 2 bolt set up - and there are others that don't seem to care....
