Most traffic cars rack up more than 100,000 miles before they are sold off. If however it belonged to MOD Police or The Nuclear Constabulary (was The Atomic Energy Commission Police) then it would have been used for task specific purposes and would not have run up the mileage that a Traffic Dept car would have.

Oh wow look at that! Great homework. I only had a story from the old I guy I got it from to go on, I had no reason to not believe him. The traffic cops maintain cars very very well mechanically, over and above what the most fastidious buyer does. They change pads and tyres well before we would for example.. if I’d know it was a cop car I’d have used that..
