Anyone actually had their 5.0 timing chain guides changed?

Hi All,

I’ve spent a fair amount of time looking through the forum (along with some others) and I can’t actually seem to get an answer to this?

Has anyone actually had their timing chain guides changed in the UK? If so who did it & how much was it?

—————————
I’m asking as I was looking at getting into a 4.4TDV8 but looking on here my daily commute, which is approx 3 miles morning & same again in the evening (and maybe a 40 minute drive on the motorway once a month) would just be horrendous for the DPF(?) So leaning towards a sorted Supercharged.

Yes I have. I had both timing chains/guides and the supercharger coupler done at the same time. It was done by RR London who happen to have a very experienced mechanic who used to work for LR in South Africa so has a lot of experience with 5.0s.

I'll have to dig out exact costs but was around £1k in parts and £2k+ in Labour.

I had mine done by a good local mechanic (who has been looking after many of my cars for years and had done several previously). it was under £2k iirc.

I did post a bit more detail on here when someone asked previously, so it might be worth searching my previous posts.

Thanks both. Gives me a bit of an idea on costs.
