When the soft close does not work, try pulling the door outwards using the handle but not operating the handle... Then see if the soft close pics up and closes the door Thumbs Up

If it does then it simply needs adjusting Thumbs Up

So if I close the door such that is it not properly latched and then try to push the door in towards the vehicle, the soft close kicks in and sucks to door shut.

Jack have you sorted this. My passanger door is doing something similar. I’ll go to close and soft close won’t operate so the door is not sealed shut. Then I go to grab the handle and open it and the soft close kicks in...so now the door is open and soft close has activated so it’s like out of sync. Is this a sign it needs adjusted? How do you go about that? 2014 FF Autobiography 5.0 SC

Which exact door is it?

I have not sorted it. Knowing it could be adjustment. Try what Cam Tech said... intentionally close the door so that it does not fully close/ seat. Then apply pressure on door handle towards the car as if you are pushing the door inward. The soft close will kick in and close the door.

Front passanger definitely but I think I’ve had it happen on the others. Pushing on the door doesn’t get it to suck in...but If I close it and the motor doesn’t turn on to suck it in I can put my hand in the handle area Palm side facing out and just touch the back side of the handle and it will suck in.

It seems if the motor doesn’t kick on to suck the door in and I open in the door, the motor To soft close will kick on but now the door is open So it’s essentially out of sync. Then you have to play with it a bit to get back in sync or just Push the door shut normally.

I haven’t adjusted the metal hinge on the body of the car bc I don’t want to do something that will mess with the door sealing properly. 2014 FF Autobiography 5.0 SC

Hi guys
Old post I know, my rear door sometimes don’t soft close and reading this post I find if I slightly pull the handle out it will then grab and pull the door closed.
What do I adjust and if it’s the striker plate it it in or out?
