£460 option on an Evoque, not so big a mark up for the priviledge of having a LR/RR logo on it for once!. 2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes

That's pretty impressive, looks easier to use than the Lexus that was on Top Gear when Hammond parked it in the cool wall. 2006 Mercedes CLS

But really finding it hard to fight the urge for a S/C...

The problem won't be parking the Evoque, it will be those who don't have Park Assist or PDC and park by touch............
Anyway how often do you get to parallel park on the street these days? Most place I go to it's a slot in a car park and I don't think the system can handle that - I'll still be looking for the emergency exit slots in the local downtown NCP or using the £1 all day out of town place and get the free bus into the town centre rather than parking in street gutters.
AND with the system NO MORE scuffed wheels unless the system developes one of those mysterious gremlins that Range Rovers develope that no techy can cure - explain that to the insurance company 2018 Mini Countryman Cooper S E All4 PHEV in Melting Silver - it’s whisper quiet in EV and polluter modes

I make you right Tim, it's usually car park "slots".
The Evoque'll be fine in those as long as you don't want to get in or out of the doors, due to it being nearly as wide as a FFRR. Rolling Eyes
That's the main thing I don't like about it and what rules it out for us.
It'll be a family car, which means practical. I need to be able to take our practical car shopping and use in car park spaces.

All very well and good, but women (some) do NOT know how big their car is.

You'll get a call from your wife one evening after you're wondering why dinner isn't on the table - only to find that park assist got her into a space she couldn't get out of!

You'll drive to her, hop in the evoque apply full lock ***Yes that's right ladies - it's when you turn the steering wheel ALL THE WAY*** and then pull out in one manoeuvre!

I have used it on the Golf Plus and its very effective getting you into places you may not try otherwise.

Just think if all our wives had it there would be no more "kerbed" Alloy wheels Laughing
