United Kingdom 2016 Range Rover Autobiography SDV8 Santorini Black

Toyotas go wrong, ive got 2. break all the time, though we do hammer them......

My D4 hasn't broken this year.......yet and there are only a couple of days left. Whistle

in terms of the D5 the OP was asking about, I would give it a drive and see what you think. I am seriously considering a pertol car for the next motoring instalment. Diesel has been fully villified over the last few years and though much much better than it was emissions wise it still has that Dirty diesel label the press have given it.

it will be the torque which is missing, and great big gobs of it. 450NM may sound a lot but its 330lbft. vs 516lbft from the SDV6 D5. so that's a massive chunk of pulling power missing. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

Diesel will be around for a lot longer...the gullible and sheep like masses have not yet cottoned on they are just as clean and less CO2 than a petrol. Plus when they realise the environmental impact of mining for Cobalt etc for EV batteries then it will be their turn for vilification Whistle Rolling Eyes
The real answer imho is the hydrogen fuel cell. Just need to add a hydrogen pump at all petrol stations first Whistle Gone to a good home: 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE Buckingham Blue with Ivory and clear glass = "Rory"

that is also my opinion, the problem is that at present a lot of the Hydrogen produced is made from reforming fossil fuels, so though clean at the point of use the energy required to make the hydrogen in the first place is high, but as a long term solution it makes more sense than batteries. There is nothing that can't be fixed with a hammer😜😜

I’m with DrRob that this isn’t the end of diesel. We have, however, had a clear out of many people (low mileage and city drivers) that should never have had a diesel in the first place. The knock out blow will come when legislators ask for too much and manufacturers simply give up designing and manufacturing new designs. That’s starting to happen now.

However, it wouldn’t stop me from buying another diesel right now. But, if I needed a new (ish) 7 adult seater 4x4 I can’t think of a single thing that I’d actually want to buy.

My son has got a 3.0l Disco 5 commercial as his company van. It goes very well and he is very happy with it, but no way would I swap my L322 for it, even though his is brand new and mine is 8 years old.

Even if they were to exchange the price stickers between a new ‘5 and a late ‘4, I’d still take the ‘4! Definitely one for a very long test drive before parting with the L322 Thumbs Up

The actual vehicle I am happy with for functionality and comfort, extras which compare to my l322. The looks of it I am not at all keen on, plus everyone has one! Just dont know on the petrol v6. Working on trying one.

Diesel is not dead, I agree with that. Bit when they have stated no diesels on centre of Bristol either way it starts to limit my choices. Cheers

James
