Interesting mod in CCF files/ IID tool

Bit of downtime the other day so I went through the CCF files.

I’ve installed door unlock after ignition off which I didn’t know existed.

I also had a play with the virtual instrument skins and found “design 1” to be the supercharged clocks! There are around 15 designs so haven’t tried them all. 2010 MY Vogue SE TDV8 3.6 Stornoway Grey- fully loaded

It takes a while to load them and there are around 15. If I get more time, I’ll do as many as I can. The supercharged one seems to have a different shadow around the clock face. 2010 MY Vogue SE TDV8 3.6 Stornoway Grey- fully loaded

I have only just got my IID (and FFRR) and want to start playing with the dashboard etc. but am wary of fiddling with something important and mucking it up!

Is there an idiots guide to altering the various options and how to save the configuration before you start? As a first thing I wanted to try was getting the digital speedo to be displayed in the centre of the right hand "dial" sort of where the gear is indicated in the left hand "dial" is. Second up, now I know about it, is this auto unlock on ignition off. Are there step by step guides anywhere?

Sorry to ask so many newbie questions but this is the first car I have had that allows such fiddling! 2010 Range Rover TDV8 Baltic Blue Autobiography (2011 MY) - SOLD Sad

Weegie, thanks for the quick reply and advice. I have read the whole IID manual cover to cover a few times now and still do not feel ready to take the plunge, as I am unsure what the words actually mean!

For example on page 154 "4.10.3 Configurations backup
When connected for the first time, the IIDTool made a backup of the configuration file (CCF) L322-02
and L322-06 and a backup of configurations stored inside the BPM (Body Processor) and LCM (light
control). L322-02 and L322-06 If the initial backup of one ECU failed, it will not be present in the list.
This will not affect the other ECUs whose configurations were successfully saved"

So:-
* How do I check that this "first time" backup was successful?
* Can I save this first time backup somewhere that does not get overwritten by further CCF changes?
* How do I do (& check) subsequent backups?
* How do I access the back up in the PPM and LCM to check they are there?
* Does the CCF L322-02 and/ or L322-06 also cover my L322-2010?
* How do I know if the initial backup of ECU failed and what should I do about it?

and on page 155 "Note: Changing an untested setting may affect vehicle usability and in some severe cases, incapacitate
(brick) the vehicle
." Is there a list of "tested" setting changes anywhere?

As you can see I really do need an idiots guide rather than the 194 page user manual that came with the IDD !! Embarassed 2010 Range Rover TDV8 Baltic Blue Autobiography (2011 MY) - SOLD Sad

Corsica,
Apologies for being completely off topic, but just to say you live on a beautiful island.
I have visited 3 times in the last 20 years .
I even spent 3 weeks in hospital there, but that is another story.

That is interesting - all I've ever heard about this feature is that it can't be done! Where is it?

Also interested in the different skins - they sound very interesting. I really should play with my IID tool a bit, but with limited time available, I generally have to subscribe to the ethos of 'if it aint broke'... 2010 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE
