Mega flush Milton Keynes

Could anyone recommend a mobile or service station near Milton Keynes, to carry out a mega flush on my 2012 Range Rover, 4.4 diesel with the 8 speed gear box.

I tried Bodsy, got some initial responses and then he went radio silent on me :/ Tried a few times and just didnt reply. Worked out in the end as someone recommended JGS in Isham, seem to get great reviews and worked out £70 cheaper too.

Isham isn't too far from MK, 30mins? https://www.jgs4x4.co.uk/

I phoned Bodsy but like M@]{ after my 1st call, when I tried to contact him to book a date, he seemed to keep switching his phone to answer mode, after the third time of asking him to contact me I think I will have to try elsewhere. JGS 4x4 do offer a mega flush service, they replace the drained oil with a spec called ROCK OIL ATF D VI. Can anyone confirm this is the best oil to replace what is in the 8 speed gearbox. Thumbs Up

I would assume ZF Lifeguard 8 which is from the manufacturer of the gearbox is what could be considered the best formulated oil for your particular gearbox. It's fairly expensive stuff compared to other ATF fluids.

Incidentally the ZF schedule for a gearbox oil service includes replacement of the filter which is built into the sump/pan. The way I look at it I wouldn't change my engine oil and leave the old filter in place but that's just my opinion, YMMV as they say across the pond.

Here is the spec sheet for that Rock oil. Did they give you the option of using a different oil? You've got me thinking now......

One tip....
I had my gearbox oil changed over 2 years ago now, but they didn’t change the oil pan/ filter and I have regretted that ever since.
For peace of mind I will do it again one day.

JGS 4x4 say they can do it, would cost another £180. However they say it is not necessary as the gauze is cleaned as part of the flush?

Had a call from Bodsy today, he apologised for not responding earlier and we have arranged for him to visit me this coming Tuesday. I feel comparing the two options, Bodsy, being recommended by so many on the forum, gives me that little bit more confidence when allowing someone to mess around with my pride and joy. Whistle

Did he mention what oil he uses? And whether to change the pan/gauze/filter?

Great news! Bodsy flushed mine as part of my preventative maintenance plan. No symptoms before or after. That is key.
He's a mine of information. He usually reads codes for you if you don't have a reader.

He told me it's not necessary to change the filter. I assume he is going to use an oil recommend for the 8 speed gearbox.

Be interesting to know what oil he puts in and whether it's ZF Lifeguard? Although when you price that up is over £400 so unless they get some sort of monster discount they're not putting that in for a job price of £280 / £350

The fact Bodsy and JGS both say not to bother changing the pan/gauze/filter and both use an alternative to ZF Lifeguard, I'm feeling more comfortable. I reckon a flush with ZF Lifeguard and a pan change would come in around £800, which is a lot for preventative maintenance isnt it? £280 is a lot easier to justify. And going forward I'll have it done every 3 years from now on (assuming the car lasts with me that long!)

Bodsy uses an exact specification oil for the 8 speed. There are rules governing oil spec so just trust him Thumbs Up Gone to a good home: 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE Buckingham Blue with Ivory and clear glass = "Rory"
