What Lies Below - Continued

Well , as my previous post showing some of the corrosion under my TD6 I have added the welders Facebook page . He has put a lot of before and after photos of the work being done and to say it is fantastic is an understatement ! A really nice guy with all the tools and knowledge to do a proper job , as can be seen in his photos. He is located in Beverley East Yorkshire which maybe a bit far for some but I can highly recommend him Thumbs Up

You have to scroll down his Facebook page to see all the photos , proper body work and hardly and filler = just a skim Smile

He is putting updates daily on his Facebook page. Unfortunately he doesn't do paint but he is rust killing , epoxy primer , schutz and waxoyl also with enough primer underneath to keep any moisture out over winter until I get the paint done. Cost so far is roughly £1070 each side. Not cheap but you just have to see the quality of his work to know it's worth it. I know the L322's are at rock bottom on the market now and every one I've looked at on Ebay have all the 'tell-tale' symptoms of rust in the rear arches and sills and my vehicle is a lot better than the £4k bangers being offered - hence why I'm having it done Thumbs Up

Thanks Merc, so are we saying roughly £2K for both sides without paint?

Yes Rosco , @£2k for both sides without paint. Thumbs Up As to the quality of his work i'm glad I took it to him. Hopefully the price for early L322's will gradually start to go up as a lot disappear of the roads . Its amazing that all the cars on Ebay where they show photos of the lower rear arch all have the same small blemishes that mine had but its only when you look underneath you can see the corrosion. To be fair how many owners are just daily drivers and never inspect their car underneath or even waxoyl it until its too late and then its off to the breakers or Ebay ! All x4 jacking points on mine were just about gone , but I never used them for jacking the car and as they were hidden didn't give them a second thought !
