Oil Change or Inspection 1 | |
I got the 'Oil Change' warning on my car a few weeks ago and it started to count down from 500miles , within 3/4 days it was at -165 miles (although I had only covered around 200 miles since the warning). Anyway, booked it in for an oil change (£290) but then when I went into the dealer for the service, they told me it was now recommended to have the turbo filter replaced on the Oil service aswell as on Inspection 1 & 2 as they reckon its needs changing more regularly than originally thought. I asked the price of this and it was £95 (they reckon @£50 for the filter? and then the labour). So suddenly the oil change was £385 . I then asked the price of the Inspection 1 service and it was £308 ! I then got them to confirm the turbo filter would be changed as part of that service and it was confirmed, hence, paid £18 more, got the bigger service + turbo filter changed and saved £77. Hence, can't see the point of ever having an Oil Service again. Also got the injectors cleaned , an additive put in fuel tank to counteract the 'bio' stuff they put in diesel now & air con filters changed and scented stuff added for a further £40 all in, total = £348 . Didn't seem too bad for a main dealer. Steve
