Air Suspension Compressor Blocked - Q590

Hi
Just wondered if anybody else has had or knows about the "Service Action" that is needed for the Ranger Rover and Range Rover Sport vechicles.

I have just had mine for its 2 year service and I saw on the TOPix site that this was needed. I contacted Jaguar / Land Rover and quoted my vin number and I had confirmation back that is it on the recall.
It is not dangerous but could affect the air suspension . The action is referenced as publication no. Q590

"At the next service opportunity you are requested to inspect air suspension compressor - if no white resddue is coming from the exhaust silencer replace air susoension sintered silencer and update software. If white residue is visible replace compressor and update software."

Anybody had this carried out or know anymore infomation

Anyone know the chassis range for the L494 please? Got this exact issue with a recently purchased SVR that throws the amber warning and locks out the height adjust, diagnosed as a blocked silencer

That is an issue with the air dryer allowing moisture to pass through the system and clog up the exhaust. Remove the silencer and replace the drying material, replace the silencer. I haven't looked at the compressor on my 405 yet, but this was the process on the l322. Replacing the entire compressor may not be necessary.

I've always thought the ride quality in my L405 is nothing better (indeed probably worse) than your average car. Never had any suspension warnings crop up, and the strange thing is, at times I think it rides reasonably well, but other times every pothole and drain cover I drive over is a major obstacle. I'm on 22 inch wheels which doesn't help, none the less it ought to be better than it is. Any thoughts ?

I have not looked at the l405 setup, but on the l322 it was a canister fit to the side of the compressor... it removes moisture being drawn into the system and again before air is vented to atmosphere. When it begins to fail it'll allow moisture into the system resulting in the vent spitting liquid and then eventually clogging to the point suspension commands to lower fault. Again... not sure how it is exactly setup on the l405 but it cannot be too much different. There still must be an air dryer and exhaust somewhere on the compressor unit.

That is because of the 22" wheels, they have no business being on an suv. If you drop down to a 20 it'll ride more like a range rover should.

I suspect you're right. My previous 322 was a much smoother ride on smaller wheels. Bought the 405 with the 22's so maybe a change is the solution. I ought to drive some different combinations to see.

L322 rides better because heavier?

Corners worse but possibly rides better.

My 405 with 20's rides better than my l322 did with 20's. I never put 22's on the l322 but I'd imagine it'd ride like crap with them.
