Well I did my best with it given the time of year and "Zeg the grotbox" has passed its NCT today. I wire brushed as much as I could and used a combination of POR 15, Dinitrol 3125 and Dinitrol 4941. Im very happy with the subframe now but I know I will redo the lower rear arches when the weather improves. So for now it looks like this.

I took this after a test drive. Its dirty but you get the idea. Nice to be legal again. 2002 TD6 Epsom Green

No pictures with the rear subframe out of the car ? .

No I did say I was going to leave that as it wasnt as bad as I first thought after a session with the wire wheel. All the work was done with frame on the car. The subframe turned out to be the least of my worries in the end. Anyway its past the test for now so Ive succeeded in kicking the can down the road until summer. Then I will strip off the cill covers and see how things look under there. That will deceide if the car is worth keeping or scrapping. Im just happy to have the winter months with it now.

Theres another thread on here with similar arch rot to mine so I shall watch that with interest. 2002 TD6 Epsom Green
