Same here, I drive a different works vehicle most of the time. Never had a starting issue, but when I do want to go out on a frosty morning the biggest letdown is when the FBH won't complete it's duration. 1st world problem tho! |

In the Autel service tool there is a page to reset the back up battery , but I think this is only used for the telematics in the 3.0 models as there is also a routine to reset the telematics themselves after disconnecting / replacing the small battery ( 15 ah agm) the 2nd battery in the v8 cars is huge by comparison !

Bonjour Obi Cam Craigobi, Did you try the “new battery” reset with an OBD approach for yours? If so did it work? |

After receiving the "Low battery" message I had a new battery fitted and the message disappeared. A few weeks later it reappeared, so I had the stop/start battery replaced and recoded. Message was gone when I picked the car up. Started it the next day and the "Low battery" message re-appeared and I noticed that the interior lights and courtesy tailgate did not work with the car engine not running. After lots of web searches I decided to take a look at the battery connection. To access the main battery you need to remove the spare wheel. When I lifted the wheel out of the well the interior lights came on, when I put the wheel back in the well I found that when I moved it around I could get the interior lights to go on and off. There was nothing obvious wrong with the cables so I pushed the spare wheel to the front of the wheel well so it was not near the battery terminals and it solved the problem. Bolted it back in place and so far I have not seen the "Low battery" message again. So far so good, fingers crossed. Worth checking I think. |
