Cylinder order

Hi everyone

I’m trying to work out on my 4.2 which cylinders are where.

The lr wm says starting at the front right is 1234 and left 5678.

Auto data however says right 1357 left 2468... also I looked in the jaguar wm and it says this too...

And will all code readers correspond to the correct cylinder numbers? I was tempted to disconnect a coil and start it for a minute to look at the fault to work it out - is this a bad idea? Current stable:
2006 BMW M6
2007 4.2 V8 S/C FF
Gone:
2002 4.4 V8 FF

Hi Stan

Yes that where I looked but thinks weren't adding up and the fact it was the same as the m62 confused me I found a post on another rr forum which says its a misprint which makes sense as the correct is the same as every other application of this engine...

Doesn't work like that on the ajv8. The crank locking pin denotes "tdc" and can only fit in one position. HTH 2006 4.2 SC
