So, I've just received the renewal quote from LR (or I should say CarCare Plan since they are technically the underwriters) to continue my used vehicle Extended Warranty at a tad over £1400.

Yes I know other warranty companies are available and probably cheaper but my question is this:

Has anyone ever negotiated a cheaper quote with LR for the same cover? - i.e.. is that £1400 just their opening offer hoping I blindly accept like most house/car insurance companies do these days come renewal time...

Blindly accepted I’m afraid but as I renewed early I got it slightly cheaper than would have been the case had it expired. Prices were going up.

Cover was continuous though and I didn’t ‘lose’ any time off the old cover

I became aware there’s a fair amount of commission paid to the chap who signs you up though.
