P040D-00 (2F) Exhaust gas recirculation temperature sensor A

Does anyone know which sensor this relates to?
P040D-00 (2F) Exhaust gas recirculation temperature sensor A - circuit high

I've just picked the car up after apparently having this fixed under warranty, plugged the IID in and it was still there, cleared it and it came straight back. I'm now awaiting a phone call Yawn

The sensor they have just fitted is LR022904 - Sesnor exhaust gas - temperture Current

Andy, essentially the same engine -- so we believe it to be the same issue.

See other posts about this -- for some the fault causes untold trouble, others like myself apparently no adverse effect -- the thought being it depends if the sensor fails in either high or low -- one causing issues the other not, though I don't think there is enough data to confirm that. Current: 2011 FFRR Vogue SE 4.4 TDV8

Just had a little play and Bank 2 sensor 2 is at a constant 0V all the other EGT sensors fluctuate.

Time to have a read of that thread and decipher if its in the manifold or downstream

I have no adverse effects at present caused by this, no lights on anyway but as its under warranty they can fix it with where some of the sensors are located Rolling with laughter Current

A few of us have that error with no obvious issues but if they will replace it for free then Thumbs Up Gone to a good home: 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE Buckingham Blue with Ivory and clear glass = "Rory"

It's on a warrantywise warranty and they've tried once but done the wrong sensor Rolling with laughter, looks like they've done the one in the EGR pipework.

On the plus side they did fit a new waterpump to to the preheater and that now works, had a few cold mornings last week and missed my preheat Big Cry

The L322 is definitely a better shape for washing, I've just given it its first wash in my ownership and it took a hell of a lot longer. Current

Craig had it on his 405 SDV8
Same issue.
Dealer screwed up the warranty replacement too.

it's not documented and it flummoxed me and a few of us for a while, not the first time I've read a dealer replaced the wrong one - this led to dealers proliferating the story that it's a ghost code / that all do that sir.

If you haven't read my guide it's on the NS exhaust manifold.

Once they find the correct location, the job can still go wrong without repeated WD40 soakings (the nut can round off)or in Craig's case they didn't clean the thread out properly before fitting the new one (false torqued nut).

Get it wrong and the manifold's got to come out which is not pretty.

. Cheers, Greg

Thumbs Up

stumbled accross this thread aswell https://www.fullfatrr.com/forum/post505564.html which shows it on a L405.

I'm still waiting for my call back from the garage Whistle

I've got a feeling that warrantywise are going to stick two fingers up now and blame the garage and the garage won't want to sort it becasue they aren't being paid leaving me stuck in the middle. Current
