Hi all,

2003 TD6 - I’ve already done the EGR blanking kit, but have now got a slow coolant leak from the EGR cooler.

Am I right in saying I can remove the cooler and thermostat unit, and just blank the two hoses with plugs?

Has anyone done this and can you recommend a plug kit? There seems to be lots for the BMW models but not sure which one would suit the Rangie?

Yes, it is well documented as a success. Off the top of my head, you need 2x 15mm caps for the hoses and a blank for the exhaust. A full in-depth write up is in this forum, try a search 2007 TDV8 VSE

Many thanks - I could find a lot on the basic blanking kits, but not much on the actual removal of the cooler and the thermostat.

I removed the EGR, EGR Cooler, and viscous fan/shroud from my 2003 TD6 and the car seems much better now.
