EGR: blanking or full remove? TD6

Decided to get rid of EGR since I doubt it works anyways.

There are two "kits" available for this purposes:

Simple installation: Ebay URL

Advanced, with hoses removal: Ebay URL

What is the practical difference except removing some additional weight? Which one is better?

Thanks!

I went for the easy option and just replaced the EGR, leaving the hoses and other gubbins.

It takes about 15 - 20 minutes. To be honest I have not noticed much of a difference but for the engine to now be breathing air rather than recirculated combustion gases it must be better for the car in the long run.

I bought the fuller kit, but it was enough of a faff that I ended up just using enough bits to blank it, rather than doing the lot. Blanking was very quick, can't see the benefit of going all the way

I purchased the kit and it didn't fit properly . In the end I just removed and plugged the vacuum pipe - job done.

If you do end up just doing the blank instead of the removal, make sure you verify that the bolts holding on the EGR cooler are secure.

I ended up doing the full removal because my EGR block off snapped due to vibrations coming from where it attached to the loose EGR cooler. I ended up removing the whole EGR and the EGR cooler system blankled to the exhaust. The car now heats up significantly quicker and doesn't have the running cold problem it did before.

Here's a link with some pictures of my problem in case you're curious:
