FM Radio Crackles

my FM radio is awfully crackly and a retune does not fix it, the CD player has no issues apart from when I did the obligatory emergency brake test and nearly blew my eyeballs out with a full emergency stop from 70mph, and then it crackled and skipped for a bit. Shocked

Any idea why the FM radio might be so crackly? poor aerial earth? I have the roof-mounted aerial ufo thingy but that might just be for GPS (which works fine but is out of date)

or is there another aerial that I might have missed? FFRR

Pretty sure the radio aerial is on the rearmost side window. Looks like a heater element. 2007 Vogue TDV8 in Zermatt Silver with Charcoal

I think you're right! I've just figured out how to tune the DAB so the FM can forget it now but thanks for the info! FFRR
