Water running out of top tailgate when opening it

When I open the tailgate after it has been raining I get a nice water feature off the extreme outer edges of the top tailgate.

Water runs out for an ages so it is obviously backing up somewhere, this presumably means I have a drain tube blocked because it has only just started happening.

Can anybody point me in the right direction to clear it please.

Mine has done this ever since I bought it new 4 years ago
I just assumed that that it was a typical JLR design fault - so I would be curious to know the answer various other LR's this one is still the best

the 'water fall' feature has been specially designed by LR technicians so you can be entertained whist the tailgate is rising...
