Hi all , on my 2015 4.4 AB, the rear diff oil seal was leaking so dealer replaced. Since friday car has made a whining noise from rear diff area. Its under drive or deceleration only and in all gears , high and low, cornering makes no diff. Am i right in thinking dealer might have over tightened rear diff nut ? Really dont want to go back to dealer as i have no confidence in them

mine did exactly the same thing. First fixed the leaking seal with a kit (which is a common problem) then a few months later the diff started whining. New Diff needed. Dealers reckoned that too much oil must have dripped out while the seal was leaking and the damage was done then....Mmmmmm

Thanks Fleagle, my seal was replaced about 2000 kilometres ago so its seems a bit of a coincidence. Oh well , life goes on. 2015 4.4 AB
