How should the car sit?

So i find myself asking yet another question lol..

One thing that im trying to figure out, i park the car up at work in one of 3-4 spots in our car park and some times the car looks like its sat level front and back and sometimes the car looks like its sat lower at the rear (front raised) ???

How are these suppose to sit? Regards

My experience with older RRs with air suspension has been that they tend to sag a bit at the back, not necessarily to the same extent every time, but in general the longer they sit the lower and the longer it takes for the compressor to get them level again once the engine is started. I just put up with it, sometimes one had to wait a while before driving off, but a system overhaul with replacement of poor seals, perishing bags, worn out compressor etc would be the permanent solution. I'm not sure recalibration would solve it, assuming the vehicle gets level when running. Only Range Rovers since 1988

I always felt my FFRR's looked like they were sagging at the back, even if the suspension heights were correct (vehicle design / optical illusion / etc.)

I set the rear heights to + 20mm and this seemed to make my eyes happier Thumbs Up .
Experience is the only genuine knowledge, but as time passes, I have forgotten more than I can remember Wink

Thought I’d upload a couple of pics instead might be easier lol.

Although car looks more level in pics than in the flesh. I’m wondering if it’s just the ground though?

Our drive isn't level and slopes gently away from the garage. The car, when across the front of the garage, appears to be sitting with less clearance under its "uphill" side. I've assumed the car justs sorts itself out to level if left alone.

It also does this when I park nose in in certain spaces in the local supermarket carpark. Stick it in P and handbrake on and the front appears to lower. Slight rise of tarmac towards the fence. Cheers

Ours driveway has an odd camber to it and our Rangey never looks like it is sitting level on it whereas it does sit 100% level on a flat surface. Now I know, I just ignore it even though several people have commented that the suspension must be shot when they've seen it on the drive. Current: FF Westminster money pit

Hmm bradders and Rich’s post almost contradict each other don’t they lol.

I guess I’ll see what she looks like on level ground. I would have thought if there was a suspension issue it would flash up?

Thinking about it I’m the past a couple I’ve noticed when I’ve parked up and walked to the rear of the car I’ve actually heard and seen the rear lower ever so slightly ? After I’ve locked it? Regards

Sort of related to this post. Our drive is fairly wide, the section in front of the garage is concrete and has a fair slope on it down to the road.
The other half of the drive is gravel and not as steep as the concrete side, but still has a slight slope down to the road.
When we park the car we always reverse it on to the gravel side and the back always appears to sit lower than the front, which it would to keep the body level.
I was told (or read somewhere) that you should not park a RR on a steep slope or say parked half on half off a kerb for long periods as the car will try to self level, and if too much could potentially flatten the battery.

Any truth in this?

The things that co fuse me with these cars why would it try and self level when parked up and locked?

Also mine should be trying to get the front of the car lower as the rear ground is lower. Regards

I can relate to your comments, as I often think that mine is sat low at the back although level. Even after it's been sat for a week it looks low, but still level & agree with Joe90's comments.

If you don't have any leaks etc. then all's good Thumbs Up

Dazza

If you're standing on a slope don't you try to stand upright?? (assuming, of course, it's not you that's unlevel Whistle )

I agree with Paul's comment, and it is a b***dy FullFat after all. Mr. Green Cheers
