@UKMarine

If I was tempted, it would be one of these:

I agree, we had a 110 3.5 V8 and loved it. It quickly became a family member and even though I appreciate the new one I’m not sure if it will ever garnish that feeling in people. ______________________________

LR have put the launch at the Frankfurt motor show on Youtube. Speeches by Sir Ralf Speth and Professor Gerry McGovern with bits of film, interviews with marketing and production people and some brand ambassadors.

It's hard to see farmers and other working users abandoning their Ford, Toyota, Nissan, Mitsubishi etc pickups, especially at the higher spec prices, so it's maybe more for the 'lifestyle' market. That was probably true of the old Defender too in recent years.

Red Merle is spot on IMHO that people wanting to drive off road would get better value and a nicer vehicle buying a 405 plus some 20" takeoff wheels from Dan @ Duckworths and putting some Goodyear Duratracs or General Grabber AT3s on them. OK, the 90 with air suspension and off road tyres will probably go places that the 405 can't, but if one is on road most of the time the RR will be so much better. Only Range Rovers since 1988

The 110 X starts at £78,800 though

Lots of people have been speccing them on the Defender site and many have come in at well over £80k. I think the 'winner' got to £102k!

My journey wit Range Rover started with the chance to buy a new defender for about £20,000.

Being larger than an average bear I simply didn’t fit!

I tried the sport? And experienced the best bit of salesmanship at a JLR dealer- he just shook his head!

The FFRR will do nicely at about £50k Shocked

I then waited about a year for the new engine and bought in 2007 or so.

Without the ‘come on’ of the defender at £20k, I would not of joined the FFRR family. Thus I do wonder if yet another version of a Range Rover at the £8ok mark is going to help them.

One can see some of the goodies that will be tried and tested for the next version of a proper Range Rover the FFRR Thumbs Up Filters are in fact so good that in certain circumstances, when the ambient air is already polluted, a diesel car will tend to extract more particles from the air than it emits. Emissions Analytics worked with........etc etc

Ok, I'll ask in this thread.

What is this thing on the window?

I've seen boxes mounted on it, but I think I'd prefer to be able to look out of the window and wind it down.

On the 90 it’s for show and can be deleted, on the 110 it covers the C pillar.
