I ❤️ P400e Autobiography

I finally drove one. Wow. This thing purrs sweetly along in London traffic. When I got to a dual carriageway and booted it... well, it just flew towards the horizon. Compared to my ye olde 3.0 TDV6 the P400e simply flies.

So I finally ordered the darned thing! I’ll share my spec - if you don’t like brownness then look away now:

P400e Autobiography
Silicon Silver with body coloured accents and fixed pano roof
Espresso seats with Almond interior
Satin walnut, ivory suedecloth headlining
Hot stone massage exec class rear comfort seats
Privacy glass and solar attenuating windscreen
Signature 1700W hifi
Head-up display
Cabin Air Ionisation, domestic plug sockets, secure tracker pro
Wade Sensing
Active Rear Locking Differential

I got a cracking price (which took a lot of haggling and huffing and puffing on both sides), which I was pleasantly surprised about especially as it was a London dealer. Lead time is a fuzzy 3 months “might be before Christmas or it might not”. My MOT is due 19th November so knowing my luck I’ll still need to MOT and service my old one, but never mind.

Congratulations. Can you give us a ball park on % discount - by PM perhaps if you don't want to say publicly? Having just seen that Aston Martin are offering 0% finance I would have thought LR would be needing to do even more to secure orders

I offered to take finance if that helped the price but they said cash was good enough.

In terms of price, let’s just say all those options above were practically free and I got a better deal than Japseroony (sorry to break it to you if you’re reading this, buddy!). I could have got it very fractionally cheaper still via AutoeBid but I prefer using my local dealer in case it ends up being a lemon (better consumer protection via selling retailer, basically). I’ll put £500 on my credit card too for extra consumer protection.

If you can’t get the deal you want from your local dealer I recommend AutoeBid despite not using them in the end.

Expectations were set for the tail end of December, however I got a call saying it’s expected mid November. I wonder if that’s due to Brexit madness or something else... Confused

I’m selling my old Sport if anyone knows someone in the market, else it will go in a PX. Amazingly the dealer says they’ll retail it!

Pleased for you on whatever discount you achieved but what you may need to remember there are different discounts on different variations of FF - more on the less popular and less on the more exotic variations.

I was looking from Dec last year for my SVA and was being offered 0 yes Zero, Nadia, nothing etc but eventually obtained a decent 7% which even today when I mention that to dealers I am talking to just look at me as if I am stupid Thumbs Up "UNDERSTEER" ----is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.

Happy new year! Soo... Did anyone get more than 34kilometers/22miles of real electric range from the P400e?

I’m not measuring my EV range accurately, but I think the worst I have had is ~12 miles, and typically it feels like 15 miles. My calculated expected range on a full charge normally shows as 21 miles. But sat in traffic with heater on, massage on, lights on etc etc and plenty of pulling away from lights all seem to eat the battery. I’m a bit disappointed but not shocked and overall I think the P400e is superb. I’m still glad I got this vs the 5.0 or 3.0 i6 MHEV). I love EV mode, like in underground car parks or if I want to drive the car just 1 mile up the road because it’s raining or I need to pick something up like the dry cleaning. And in regular mode the instant torque is a game-changer vs my previous diesel Sport. L405 P400e Autobiography (MY2020)... Silicon Silver / Espresso

Sounds similar to my figures. Wonder where they got the 51 km range from... But probably nobody would have bought it if it was written: 34 km in electric mode...

The indicated range with a full charge varies (temperature makes a big difference) between 20-25 miles. This compares to the quoted range of 31.
But in practice the actual range is 15-20 miles.
