Battery disconnection for storage

Hi all my first post. I have a 2004 td6 and after reading threads about battery changes im wondering about when i park it up for a few months i will disconnect battery. So will i need to use a diagnostic machine when i come to use the range rover again? Have read about disconnection issues with immobilser and ecu being out of sync on reconnection?

I also have a 2004 td6. Every winter I spend 5/6 months in the Caribbean.all i do is disconnect the battery, and put a cover over the car. When I come back, battery lead on,start her up, turn the steering lock to lock, and everything has always been ok.
