Very dim touch screen

This morning (about 4C) I noticed that my touch screen was very dim on the left hand side and just dim on the right - is this a warning that the screen is about to die ?

Sounds like the inverter board is playing up for the screen , could be a loose connection to the board but unlikely Far to many gone...

Also check your screen brightness settings too.

Mine was sometimes a little dim but warmed up to normal. Discovery 4 HSE

I'm hoping it was just a little cold - all back to normal now and I haven't seen a repeat of this (yet). It didn't do this driving in the Alps last year and that was much colder each morning.

does anyone know where the sensor for the screen brightness is located or is it merged with the auto headlight sensor... ... - .- -.
