Deployable side steps - roof access

Ok so having just spent a hour or so finding this setting again thought I would post it a) to help others and b) So I know where to look for the answer.

So deployable side steps are great but a) you might want to turn them off or b) extended them permanently for roof access or at the car wash to clean them.

I’d found the setting but lost it.

The ‘incontrol pro’ screen you often see is the one with the media, phone, etc on it when you’re using the landrover interface. It’s really easy to forget there are others...

If you swipe left two screens you’ll see a button for deployable side steps. Here you can switch them off or on or on for roof access or on for certain off road situations where they would normally be off.. phew that took some finding.

(Also note you can make your own custom screen too, with your own buttons. Stuff like the deployable steps button easily to hand)

Geoff - I read the manual for you -

In park & parking brake on

Press start button to turn ignition on

Press & hold the function button within 3 seconds of ignition on

Button will light continuously but you can turn the ignition off again

Steps will remain deployed until the reverse of the above is done, or the vehicle is locked or driven over 5mph

In my defence it when I looked at the main manual it wasn't in there but it was in a supplement - maybe I should stop digging Big Cry Geoff

I used to laugh at them before I had a set - now I wouldn’t be without them, they are the most extravagant and lavish accessory available but totally justifiable once you have owed a set 2021 L405 Vogue SE 4.4 V8 DIESEL ~ #17

I have a set, but I'm not a fan & mine are switched off - I therefore find it mildly amusing every time the spell checker agrees with me Laughing

I do kind of agree with u. But I’m getting used to them having never had before. They are kind of useful especially for kids, elderly relatives etc. I wondered if drivers seat might wear less with steps. --
