Little gutted. The wife managed to clip the near side mirror on a concrete post while reversing on the drive. She clipped it going backwards so it flipped the mirror out. She’s obviously heard the noise, stopped and went forward so it got it from both ways. It’s not damage the integrity of the mirror or anything just deep ish scratches. But I’ve noticed it’s scratched the cover but it’s also scratched the back surround. The covers not a biggie but I’ve noticed the surround isn’t body coloured it’s just a flat black whereas the cover is santorini black. I suppose the surround bit is the actual mirror?

Yep... The mirror left the factory as a gloss black case with an individual painted mirror outer cover... Over time and by using car washes, the mirror cases gradually loose their shine etc etc... Get a bodyshop to paint the mirror case where it was damaged? or remove & replace with another mirror sir are you options...

I had one of those people who sort out paintwork scuffs repaint mine on my drive.

I’m doing it myself. I’ve ordered the paint. Watch this space
